David Ellis
David grew up in Bristol and it became apparent early on that school was not easy for him – at least when it came to expressing himself in words. He found his true voice on the pitch and in the art room. He described himself as a ‘successful dyslexic’ – A quality that marked him then and still does today.
He vividly recalled asking his teacher at the age of thirteen, ‘Couldn’t I just tell you the answers instead of writing them down?’ This question reflected not only his challenge, but also his desire to find a way to prove himself.
Over the years, he channeled the frustrations that came with his dyslexia into his passions – sport and art. These two areas became outlets for him and also places where he could shine. Today, he considers himself very lucky to be able to earn a living doing something he loves.
